Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner
This was a first visit to Mrs A, who lives in sheltered accommodation and is partially-sighted. She was in a bit of a tiz as the facility manager had tested the fire alarms that morning and had been unable to switch them off again. 2 hours of alarm bells ringing had played havoc with her hearing aids. Luckily they had sorted it out by the time of my visit so we were able to have a lovely chat and get to know each other a bit. Her first love is reading, hence the hanging on her door 'Booklovers never go to bed alone'. But she is distressed that the deterioration in her eyesight means she can no longer read books. However she has retained quite a wicked sense of humour!
