Visit to London with a bang!
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Windsor and Maidenhead.

Today I have visited Mrs D again. We had a lovely chat in the kitchen, which was nice and cool. We discussed various topics, then revisited last week's story, the visit to the USA and the doughnuts in particular. They came from a neighbor who was in the trade, and the box of doughnuts was really big and nobody wanted any and Mrs D can't quite remember how she got rid of them in the end! She is so lovely! We've had another good laugh over this... Then she recalled a visit to London a long time ago. She liked to to London to visit art galleries. This particular time she happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, sorry I didn't quite get the location. Anyway, there was this big loud bang, it turned out it was a bomb that went off. There were injured people and a lot of chaos, as one could imagine. It was the time when IRA was planting bombs in London. She and her companion were unhurt physically, she was a little bit shaken nevertheless. So much so that when she got to the bus to get home later on, she didn't respect the queue, went right at the front, and that caused some distress to the others, who were waiting patiently in the queue. We both agreed that it was understandable and forgivable, given the circumstances! Until next time.

Thanks for telling us these stories Georgeta. They are fascinating. What a relief that Mrs D was OK.
