GoodGym Derby were once again called on by St Matthew's Church to help with some of their garden of rest maintenance. There were lots of weeds and overgrown plants that needing removing and trimming back along one of the boundary fences.

Ashley, Pete and Rachel welcomed back Mandy along with newbie Grant who it turns out knows Mandy just a bit as the couple are married so thanks to Mandy for recruiting Grant to a task! It was great to see Mandy again and welcome a new face to GoodGym. Mandy and Pete chatted all things food bank donations as they help out at Long Eaton and Derby branches and Grant chatted away with Pete about all things parkrun (resident parkrun tourist Pete has recently tried out Lichfield and would recommend the flat, scenic course) along with a gruelling challenge from Land's End to John o' Groats that Grant as an enthusiastic cyclist has previously taken on.

The team got to work to clear some weeds and overgrown bushes running along one of the border fences and made a great improvement in just part of an evening.

Huge congratulations to Ashley as this was his 99th good deed...he's heading over to Nottingham tonight to make it 100!

Thanks to everyone who came along and please keep an eye out on the calendar for more St Matthew's Church visits as we're just firming up some future dates we are needed back.
