Walk n a talk
3 GoodGymers made their way on a training session in Portsmouth.

Tracey, Lynn and Kat met at Southsea Pier this evening to walk and talk. There was the possibility of people beyond Goodgym joining us after we got a promotional article in the Portsmouth News https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/people/goodgym-portsmouth-group-joins-up-with-the-great-get-together-to-host-walk-celebrating-connections-and-remembering-mp-jo-cox-3275983 but the power of the media sadly didn't introduce us to new people.
We had a lovely stroll along the sea front, around the common - all of us visiting corners we did not often go to. We discussed food, health, life more food and Tracey's good deed at Christmas leading to her becoming friends with some local refugees and she then led us to a small memorial garden to remember those who have suffered horrific acts of war in recent times near the South Sea Castle - see the photos for the plaques there. A walk of reflection for how lucky we are of the diverse multicultural and largely peaceful and safe place we live; but also on the back drop of the reason for the walk - as part of the Great Get Together. The Great Get Together is inspired by the late Jo Cox MP, who was killed on 16th June 2016. In her first speech in Parliament, Jo said: “We have more in common than that which divides us.”
