I opted to walk to my hairdressers, have a little lunch in the local park then a leisurely walk on to my Age UK Buddy JJ having a little look in the local shops along the way. Stages 1 & 2 completed successfully I realised I’d forgotten to bring out a mask so shops were out of the question. Switched plan to a little Street Tagging exercise (a little on line game some GGR members are part of) with 2 hours to spare for a 30 minute walk there was plenty of room for little detours. After about 40 mins it was spitting with rain so I started making a more direct path to JJs, as I got nearer tags started to get a bit sparse, I was going to add a few to help a fellow tagger who lives locally but it really started to rain heavily so decided he didn’t need them that badly and went to visit JJ early instead, luckily she keeps spare disposable masks by her front door.

JJ was delighted at the idea of a longer visit and we had a lovely, lively chat, For a while now I’d noticed a shiny metallic knight by her fireside, it looked futuristic, almost Star Wars like which I felt was not in JJs usual taste. Assuming I would get a story about how one of her kids had gifted it to her I asked about it. Turns out it conceals a set of fireside tools, the knights head is actually the handle of a poker, not futuristic but a genuine antique…shows how much I know.

I made my way home having enjoyed my “little stroll” with two dog walks either side of this trip I’d completed 21km walking.
