I've been lucky enough to enjoy the company of this sweet & friendly Chocolate Labrador called Bailey, every day since last Saturday.

Bailey's owner is over 70 and has asthma so, unfortunately, she can't take him out for long walks anymore as she's currently isolating. Following a phone call with both Bailey's owner and her daughter, who was quite worried for her mum as she herself is also isolating and can't help her, we arranged that I would take Bailey out for a walk every day, until further notice.

We initially had a chat over the phone to discuss Bailey's behaviour and the safety procedures that we'd both have to follow every day, such as washing our hands, disinfecting Bailey's lead and keeping a 2m distance between us, at all times, when I collect and drop off Bailey.

Since then, me and Bailey have been out a few times, he is very friendly and well behaved. We have started to develop a bond and he already gets very excited when he sees me and a little sad when I have to leave him, and so do I...! He has quickly become a joyful part of my day.

His owner is very grateful and we've also started to build a lovely friendship, even if we only see each other for a short space of time (and with a distance) every day, we get to have a little chat and get to know each other.

It's lovely to have this reason to go for a short walk, and get some fresh air every day, and I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's outing with Bailey!
