Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
*9 runners ran 10k to clear rubbish from Wanstead Flats. *
It was the wettest day of the year so far. Rain drops the size of peas had been battering the streets of London all day.
9 brave souls headed to the glorious London Aquatics Centre, GoodGym's home in Newham. We were lucky to be lead by road racing warrior Hassan Noshib and marathon-madman Will Dowsett. Both in their black t-shirts for 50 good-deeds.
The mission was by no means easy, it was a 4k run to the our destination.
"It was exactly like the cold war"
We hit the streets shortly after 7pm and Hassan cut through the streets of Newham like a hot knife through butter. We arrived at the flats at 7.30 and split into 2 teams: East and West. It was exactly like the cold war, except that instead of fighting an ideological battle, we were competing to pick up as much rubbish as we could in the cold.
After 20 minutes of frenzied rubbish picking and with no signs of an impending nuclear disaster, Team West was declared the winner with 700g more rubbish . Well done them. After period of glasnost on the way home the sides were united.
Will had clocked 10k on his RunKeeper by the end of the run. Well done everyone for braving the cold and avoiding international war.

From James from Epping forest: "please thank all your runners last night Capel Road certainly looked tidier early this morning, not sure how they found it because it was quite dark last night."
