Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Tonight we ran around 5km to deliver leaflets in the Broad Green area for Croydon’s Neighbourhood
We’ve definitely been lucky with the weather on our evening runs (hope I haven’t jinxed it now!) and we had a lovely crisp clear evening tonight as we headed down to the Broad Green area to deliver leaflets. We had over 500 to deliver and split into 3 groups and headed off to battle with the many and varied letter boxes of the area – leaflet cuts are even more painful than paper cuts as I discovered! Perfect timing by all the groups meant that we all arrived back at the meeting place at 8pm then headed off to the underpass for a short circuit session and this time I remembered the blue tack so the cards wouldn’t fly away again.
We had one new runner today Hannah so welcome to her and really hope to see her again next week and thank you to Sparkle for the song title - I was running out of inspiration and this week had the choice of two. Sorry it wasn't your one this week Steve
As I mentioned before the Croydon Guardian has a four page colour wrap-round this week and it looks pretty impressive so hopefully more runners and tasks will come out of it. If you see any copies please leave them lying around at home or work in strategic places to encourage people to join. I am happy to arrange extra DBS sessions for anybody who needs them too, An added incentive will be a set of red laces each for you and a friend if you manage to bring somebody else along. What’s not to love about bright red laces – I thought mine looked great
Next week we will be supporting Mind in Croydon as they ** #RunAndTalk**. This It is an England Athletics campaign supported by Mind to improve mental well-being. And don't forget we thought we could head to BoxPark afterwards.
There is still one Starter run in January this Saturday so please sign up and feel free to bring family or friends along. They are particularly suitable for those who want to see what GoodGym is all about or who may be worried about the running bit
Have a great week and hope to see you on Saturday or Tuesday or both
