#Waterblitz on #WorldRiversDay
3 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Redbridge.
- Sunday, 27th of September 2020
- Led by Peter Van Tongeren
From the moment the opportunity popped up to become a Citizen Scientist and participate in the 2020 #Waterblitz in the Thames Valley for environmental charity Earth Watch, it had #Goodgym written all over it - helping out a charity to check up and look after the environment!
So several Goodgymmers signed up and had testing kits sent over, ready to go out and sample water to test for nitrate (NO3) & phosphate (PO4). This weekend it was time to blitz the Thames Valley - most if not all ponds & lakes & rivers somehow connect and end up flowing in the Thames, so even something like Fairlop Waters might have an impact.
Thanks to the team for running / cycling to the different locations and sampling all sorts of waters!
P.S.... rumour has it that tomorrow is John's birthday - give him a cheer!
