With apologies if I've completely ruined or recycled a pun there, but we're all fans of recycling...
It was great to be back at Cody Dock - this was our last group run destination before lockdown, where we were painting what's to become a new office and how the weather has changed! Last night was a real scorcher as a team of seven GoodGym Newham stalwarts made their various ways down the River Lea to meet Simon. Our instructions at this time of year are always going to be quite simple - water everything! One of their main challenges at the moment, particularly as volunteer numbers are necessarily down, is just keeping all the lovely vegetation alive.
Hopefully we can go back regularly to help them out with this now that guidelines allow. Cody Dock is one of our favourite destinations with some fantastic long term plans to regenerate what was something of a wasteland into a thriving creative industries quarter with community gardens and footpaths. It's also home to our favourite cat, Freddie, so it was great to see him again too.
Lovely to see you yesterday team, hope that it's the first of many!
