Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Lucy Hill
It was my first time meeting Mr K, who had seemingly met a few of my fellow GoodGymmers in the weeks previous. Mr K had nothing but excellent things to say about Beth, Sam and Madhan who had been before, so the pressure was on!
We had a nice chat whilst he got his list together, mostly about sport. I was caught up on Rugby traffic in Richmond on my cycle over, and Mr K told me he was more of a football man. As a fan of the beautiful game myself, we talked about his love for Arsenal and the invincibles, and I teased him about my West Ham being the last team to beat them at Highbury and the first at the Emirates!
Footie aside, Mr K gave me his post-it with his shopping list on, and we went through it together to make sure I knew what I was getting - big tomatoes, not cherry ones, the specific soap and the precise pods.
I rode down Chiswick High Road to the big Sainsburys and made my way down the aisles picking up the bits I needed and ticking them mentally off my list. It was a successful shop, and everything Mr K had asked for was paid for and bagged up and headed down the road back for delivery.
Impressed with the speed in which I had managed to get his shopping done in, I helped Mr K put it away too. Broccoli and cheese in the fridge, cans of casserole in the cupboard and toilet cleaner and limescale agent by the lavatory.
The good news was that I had lived up to Mr K’s expectations, and it was another successful GoodGym visit completed. I wished his Arsenal team the best of luck against Fulham, and rode back home ready to watch my team take on Brighton.
*Arsenal sadly drew last minute to Fulham, but West Ham are massive and beat Brighton and are top of the Prem! Sorry Mr K!
