We Came, We Saw, We Sorted

On Saturday afternoon 11 GoodGymers made a trip to Chalk Farm foodbank to give another hand with all the donations that they've received recently. For five of us it was a return trip as we were also there last Saturday helping to move around some of the crates. This time sorting was the order of the day. With more food than they need the foodbank has identified some other charities that could make use of some of the excess. Before that can happen the food needed to be sorted so that all the beans are in one crate, the cereals in another and so on. In addition to the physical exertion required for lifting the crates, this mission was also taxing on the brain. A bit like that card game where the cards are all face down and you have to find the matching pairs, I remember thinking more than once 'I've seen a crate full of rice pudding before, but where the heck was it?' Once everything was sorted we moved the crates back into place on the stairs, said our goodbyes to Adrienne and headed home.
