Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Dom Tooze (he/him)
On a busy Saturday, Abi and I made a diversion to tackle a quick GoodGym task to help an older person come home from hospital.
Mrs E has had some help with her hip, and was due to the come home to recover. The problem? Her bed was upstairs, and she wouldn't be able to safely reach it for the foreseeable. GoodGym were asked if any runners could help Mrs E's relatives move it.
Since Abi was up visiting me for the weekend, and it's been a while since either of us have done a GoodGym thing together, we added it to our plans. We walked over there after spending the morning on a rented tandem bike (great fun - also, are we the first GG runners to claim a tandem bike figured into our journey to a task?), and met Mrs E's son in law. He had already managed to take the bed apart and bring it downstairs, but was less confident putting it back together.
After a few mistakes, and a few more successes, we had the bed in one piece and headed off to grab supplies ahead of our next activity - a walk around the city walls.
Mission accomplished
