Report written by Esther
It was a change of plan this week as we had to move a task so an opportunity to get back into the garden at St John's in Broadstone.
As promised on our last visit - It was an off road run onto the little known Dunyeats Heath. Perhaps the poor, smaller version of Canford Heath on the opposite side of Gravel Hill but it holds hidden Beauty. Small tracks winding down into Delph Woods, surrounded by purple Heath flowers and dotted with trees. It is a great place to test the feet out on paths laden with tree roots and ridges, if not bushes and prickles. A circular loop of Dunyeats, edging onto Delph Woods was indeed a lovely place to run.
We headed back to St John's ready to tackle the weeds. Elizabeth was prepared tonight with a bag holder for the garden waste and we headed to the front entrance area. Robert tackled the pathways as Becky and Esther cleared around the trees. Elizabeth swept, bagged and cut along the edges for that curb appeal!
It was a small group but plenty of friendly chatter as we cleared ivy, and pulled up weeds.
To finish, Robert pulled out some skittles for Elizabeth who of course couldn't leave without sharing a little!
Lovely company and great job done!
