Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
With the rain teaming down in Bexley last night it really couldn't put a somber mood on us as we were all really excited to be part of celebrating Susan's 50th good deed......Yay!! Tonight we were heading out onto our local streets to litter pick. We started around base camp Crooklogs entrance then headed out onto Brampton Road. Dodging the large puddles it really doesn't take long to start filling our bags, which for us is fun, but in reality quite disturbing. "LItter Picking" is a lot of fun. Its actual quite therapeutic picking up the bigger cans and plastic bottles. It starts to turn into a race to see who can get to the next piece the quickest. Its actually really surprising how much distance you start to cover without really realizing it.............
"LITTER PICKING" IS A LOT OF FUN. ITS ACTUALLY QUITE THERAPEUTIC..........
Or biggest clearance areas this evening were the bushes and grass areas of the Adult Education building and the railway bridge crossing. To our credit they should now be looking brand new this morning.
With 45 mins passing really quickly and all being a little wet we started heading back to our start location. Talking about our Easter weekends and what we had been up to we didn't let the rain bother us at all. As they say, once you're wet, you're wet and you can't get any wetter once you are wet. (Blimey, thats a mount full. Not sure its even a saying, hahaha)
Once back at Crooklog we were pleased to be back under cover for our cool down and rubbish haul piccies. Giving each of off a big pat on the back it was time to bring another awesome Monday Bexley Goodgym to an end. Well done peeps..........PS!!! We're at the Danson Boating lakes next week. Hope you can join us.
