Full of energy and pizzazz (in our minds), Aimee, Mikey and Ellen ran up hills, over puddles and across busy roads to help Ms V, who needed help with household chores. First we had to find the place - where was this odd numbered house in what appeared to be a street of only even numbers? Aimee's great house-finding skills led us to it, where we met Ms V a bit anxious about our visit. Problem was, she wasn't sure we could actually help out.!The challenge was to hang some pictures up on walls hard as stone. And without a masonry drill (which we wouldn't have used anyway because we're not allowed to), we just couldn't get any of the various types of nails she had, into that wall. So we asked if there were other things to do - tidying up, moving things, cleaning, clearing the garden perhaps? Lots of gardening but the rain meant the garage door was sticking and we couldn't get in. Then Aimee noticed a strange pattern on the lounge window: the perfect, muddy imprint of a football that neighbourhood kids had kicked at her house (accidentally we hope!). Ellen jumped up to get the window cleaner and, using her newly-honed window-cleaning skills, she nimbly cleaned not just the one but all 3 front windows outside AND inside. In the meantime, Mikey and Aimee summoned up all their remaining energy to work a hammering miracle - they got nails into the concrete-like walls, to hang 3 pictures! There were more pictures to hang and chores to do, but for now that felt like enough for Ms V. Although she was very appreciative - enough to give us a cwtch (hug in Welsh) - it was time to go. So with a wave goodbye, and picturing (!) we'll be back soon, we skipped off into the rain to the third of our four tasks on 4 Deed Saturday.
