SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by JULIA GLEESON
I'm a little chilli
On one of the coldest evenings of the winter with snow and ice warnings I was truly delighted that some die hard GoodGymers arrived and I wouldn't be running and cooking on my own tonight!
Paul (with endorphins still bouncing from yesterdays Brighton half marathon) arrived first with Tamsin ( Lets sack it off and go to the pub) together with Gill ( every other week) and Ros (2nd timer) Welcome back ! You seem to choose the coldest of evenings for your GG good deeds.
We were sad that (injured) Belinda had a puncture on her trusted time machine and Michelle ( work commitments and probably still defrosting from yesterdays half marathon's siberian volunteering experience) didn't quite make it . We hope that we can look forward to seeing you both again next week along with Duncan ( meeting ) Nick ( injured ) and Roisin ( working ) Anne ( I'm not quite sure) and Beth (working in London but with her heart remaining in Worthing) and maybe Nigel and Pete too?!
Lets make it snappy tonight
With various options offered in sub zero temperatures the group opted for the straight there and back , no messing , no fitness and definitely no burpees .
We ran the 2 k run through the town centre and commented how truly upset we all felt that we couldn't scoop up the homeless on the street to take them with us to the hostel where we were cooking tonight.
We arrived at Worthing Churches to be warmly met by our hosts for tonight Ash, Richard and Jane.
Lets give them something to taco about
Tonight we actually had a receipe to follow 30 minute chichen fajita pasta cheese bake
With ingredients and tools all sourced we pressed the start cooking timer
The Ready Steady Cook Team were in full swing when I went to the office team to request cheese and left my phone unattended ( school girl error!) Guess which photos I didn't take !
30 ish short minutes later with glorious smells and vibrant colour we produced a dish that we were all really proud to have been part of .
Together with a much appreciated good deed it was a lovely opportunity for us to get to know each other more with plenty of time for 20 questions ( especially with Ros - sorry -not sorry ! )
After a 2 k run back to base we stretched in the warm and gave our farewells until next week
Have a good one team and stay warm
Julia :)
