Hola from sunny Cardiff!

Tonight, 14 GoodGym runners from Cardiff braved the (yes, admittedly pretty nice...) summer weather to run to the Samye Foundation in Canton. After a quick refresh of water, courtesy of the Big Moose, (well deserved for Michael who ran from his house to the start!) we began with a warm up, led by Adam, and by stating our favourite thing to do to relax on a Sunday Afternoon. If you're after a walk, to bake, or to enjoy a glass of wine in the garden - Cardiff is the place to be!

We quickly split into Speedy and Sexy runners, with the Speedy group enjoying a 3 mile route towards the Samye Centre, and the Sexy runners routing via the Castle (for a quick photo stop to make the most of the weather!), after a quick tour-de-Cowbridge Rd East, we arrived at the Samye Foundation and were warmly welcomed by Lorraine who kindly provided us with water, and in true Samye style, delicious sandwiches!

There was plenty of choice of tasks to do - Emma, Stuart and Darren braved the shed, which was transformed from full to empty in just 40 minutes; Llion undertook the job of clearing the boundary wall of weeds and the rest of the team, Andrew, Megan, Erica, Mali, Lowri, Adam J & Emily, painted the welcoming wall and gate to the centre and new car park fence. Adam H, meanwhile, managed to plant all kinds of new features for the Samye's garden - next time we visit we'll be sure to enjoy a delicious Gooseberry! Michael's archway (kindly helped by #TeamShed) proved an irresistible group-photo opportunity, and after solving the riddle (if anyone didn't catch it, the answer was 'your name') - round two of sandwiches were very welcome after all the excitement.

The group ran back to the City Centre as one and completed a warm-down courtesy of Adam, before a well-deserved post-run social and catch up at the Glassworks...where we were welcomed with a surpise guest appearance from Mikey, all the way from Sofia!

Well done and thank you to the runners tonight - remember next week it's our 2nd Birthday Party and celebrations will be in full-swing! :D
