Firstly a big welcome to Pippa who joined us for her first GoodGym run this evening. Go and give her a cheer on her profile! Thanks to Dr Jo for your recruitment skills! We welcomed back Toni after her holiday paddle boarding in the Fjords - if you didn't hear about that get her to tell you at the next run, it sounded amazing! Mel also managed to escape from the office (we were beginning to wonder if she'd be locked in) and came back to bag a good deed, getting ever closer to those wings.

We were a little disjointed tonight with some of the group going off slightly early at a more relaxed pace and those with injuries or living nearer to the Lido meeting us there but nevertheless we somehow all managed to gather together outside the Blue Lagoon just before 7, ready for work! Angela had to share her dating update numerous times and Lucy was sharing her nerves before her first ultra this weekend - 100km on the Thames Path - GOOD LUCK! Duncan from GG Worthing and our very own man of many ultras Tony are also running with Lucy - have fun!

The Lido team were very happy to see us and had some more painting tasks for us at the West end of the Lido and also at the top of the southern wall. Jo North and John shared the gantry and Tony got up a ladder for lots of scraping of paint and a bit of a new coat going on - there are more volunteers going in tomorrow so they will finish what we started. Jen also got to have a go up the gantry to finish painting a bit of the archway.

Tim led the watering team who gave all the plants a good soaking and then became the sweeping team clearing up all the old paint scrapings that Tony had chipped off. At the west end it was all hands on deck and all paint on the wall, well maybe a little bit on gloves and in hair but who's counting?

The time flew by, as it always does and it was soon time to hot foot it back down to Fratton in time to empty all the bikes out of our room and sample some of Dr Jo's brownies. The verdict - star baker! Maxine was suitably impressed even though she said she's fussy over brownies. If anyone would like to bake next week, you know we are always happy to sample any bakes. (It's bread week in the GBBO if you're following it!)

If you are free on Sunday why not head down to the seafront (Avenue de Caen) for the Wilder Portsmouth event - Mel is in charge for that one, there will be litter picking and general promotion of GoodGym.

Next week, we head to Naomi House (we ran past on the way tonight) so a nice short run with an indoor task and no doubt a few of my favourite fitness challenges thrown in too (you're welcome!)

Until the next run, have fun!
