We had to suncream up this morning as GoodGym Bristol joined GothGym as Chris and his black-tshirted cronies were in tow. We headed off on our longer 5km run to Woodcroft Community Orchard in the sunshine.
Pipped to the Post
After our hike up Arlington Road hill we arrived to be met by Andy and Flo the dog. Dave and Daniel had bet us to it and Dave was already mid-wheelbarrowing. The Orchard have an open day tomorrow so Andy had lots of jobs for us to get stuck in with.
Rachel, David and Art got to work with removing some apples from the trees around the orchard using their tree map so that the remaining apples could thrive.
Dave and Zdeni were moving a big pile of sticks out of the way one wheelbarrow at a time while Richard and Lee were making the pathway beautiful around them. Daniel and Chris cleared the pond ready for tomorrow's Pond Dipping. Emma, Liam and Fi were doing some therapeutic bindweed removal and Nathalie and Julie were on onion spotting and removal duty.
Baked apples
After 45 minutes of hot, hard work we were baking and - after a quick game of spot-the-GoodGymer (see photo attached to play the game) - it was time to say goodbye to the orchard and run downhill back for a well needed thirst-quencher back in town.
