On a cold and grey Sunday morning, what better to do than spread a little good in the world and help tidy an older person's garden?

That's exactly what Mel, Alex and Matt did today. They spent this morning tidying the garden of Mrs P, who has not been able to take care of it herself recently.

Mrs P's garden had some lovely plants and trees in it, and was beautifully arranged, but as always there was more work to be done. In this case, it was a mixture of weeding, cutting back dead bits of plants, cutting the grass and edging around the garden. We quickly agreed on tasks, with Alex cutting grass, Mel pruning and weeding, and Matt edging. Tools in hand, it was time to get to work.

Shortly before the start of the mission, the heavens finally decided to open. This added a slight challenge, especially to Alex's job of cutting the grass. But despite the rain, the three of us worked as much as we could, eventually managing to fill one and a half bags with garden waste! As we worked away we discussed upcoming events and race plans, as well as Mel's recent volunteering to help conduct a murder mystery at a National Trust park.

Once our work was completed, we joined Mrs P in her kitchen for some tea and coffee with milk chocolate digestives. Another garden gladly tidied up by our keen runners!
