Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
BOOM!!!! Probably the hottest night we've had to run on a Goodgym Monday. That didn't stop 5 awesome warriors from showing up to sweat it out. OK, its kind of funny that we started with a warm up, boy, we were all ready baking :-)
ITS KIND OF FUNNY WE STARTED WITH A WARM UP, BOY, WE WERE ALREADY BAKING..........
With it being a small group we stayed together plodding our way up to Bexleyheath. On arrival we were so pleased to be welcomed with a lovely cool glass of water. After a few minutes to pull ourselves together it was time for the task at hand. We had around 10 shelves to wipe down and get painted so they were ready for the shop display tomorrow morning.
This was a lovely but tough task. The shop in Bexleyheath is not the biggest and with 6 of us crowded in a small place painting, the body heat only was making us sweat quite a bit. But with brushes in hand there was no giving up till the job was completed.
Its my job to keep track of time and keep everyone motivated and safe. I kept looking at my watch and saw time was slowly beating us. With a last kick from the team we finally finished the last of the shelves. However it didn't leave us a lot of time to get back to base camp Crooklog. With quick goodbyes we left the shop to quite a refreshing cooler breeze. It was just what was needed for us to give that little extra push to make back on time.
WITH A LAST KICK FROM THE TEAM WE FINALLY FINISHED THE LAST OF THE SHELVES........
Well done everyone. You were awesome. Just a couple of quick shout outs!! Sarah Hope you back sorts itself out quickly. I know how frustrating runners niggles can be. Paul and Cheryl have an awesome holiday and i'll see you both in a couple of weeks. To all the Bexley Goodgym team, have a brilliant week and make sure you get signed up for next weeks run and task.
Until then.
