On a warm summer night seven of GoodGym's finest runners painted, pruned and picked themselves to peak fitness and ran 6.5km in the process.

With the planned task falling through at last minute, the group made the most of the local surroundings of Wanstead House and set about making the place more beautiful by picking up litter, painting the fence that surrounds the grounds and pruning back some of the bushes that have got a little wild. 45 minutes of work and some dramatic changes were visible. Great work team!

With the good deeds done, there was time to run around Wanstead Park and along the river Roding. The group is blessed to have such beautiful wildlife in the area and running the local trails is good for both the body and the mind.

With 6.5km on the clock it was time to return to base and do some light stretching and a few yoga poses to loosen tight hips and glutes.

Fancy getting involved? Why not join us next week when we head to Leyton to help recycle paint. You can sign up here.
