Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Jimmy Mitchinson
Another hot sunny day for two eager GG'ers Lauren and Jimmy as they arrived at their mission to help Mrs B tidy up a section of her garden.
Both completed a parkrun prior to the start of the task and agreed to meet a short distance from the mission location.
Mrs B had already met Lauren previously via a GoodGym coach run visit that made the introductions all the more relaxed
After a quick chat, Mrs B led Lauren and Jimmy to the area of the garden that she had earmarked for attention. It was a small area of 2 x 3 metres that Mrs B had adopted just outside her garden fence.
Neither Lauren nor Jimmy are what could be considered as 'gardeners' however, after some guidance by Mrs B they both got stuck into deadheading flowers that apparently encourages new growth and trimming stems that looked like they had passed their 'useful date'
Our gardening novices took around an hour to finish up and after approval by Mrs B and a couple of other simple tasks their mission was complete.
This was a small but very satisfying job, proving than even small tasks provide some benefit.
Finally, congratulations and a big thumbs up go to Lauren, for completing her first mission and also as a first timer at Leicester Victoria parkrun.
