Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Neil Armstead
For today's mission we headed to Boscombe to help Mrs B with some gardening. Full disclosure: one of us was a bit hungover so didn't run to the mission. The important thing is we both made it. Mrs B's daughter met us and we went out to the back garden where we met Mrs B enjoying the sun. We also met our new best friend and helper Tyke! After a chat Mrs B explained what she needed us to do and we got stuck in with the weeding first. Every time we thought we'd got them all we'd turn round and find more so this kept us busy for a while. After the weeds were sorted Neil got to work digging a hole to re-plant a climbing rose that had outgrown it's pot. Laura got stuck in with clearing out dead plants from pots and potting up some new plants and flowers Mrs B had bought. Tyke took care of the important jobs like licking pebbles; eating wood lice and generally being super cute. Once these were done we both dug a new hole for a climbing rose to go in. The garden had gravel over and underneath this was a liner sheet so we had to get through this first but luckily it didn't reach the fence at this point so wasn't too much of an issue. We got the rose in and filled in with soil and it will no doubt look awesome when it flowers. Our final task was the patch of earth at the back of the garden that we had weeded earlier. We got the spade and fork out and gave it a good turning over ready for Mrs B to sow some wild flower seeds. We said our goodbyes to Mrs B, her daughter and Tyke leaving them to enjoy the garden that was now a bit tidier and fresher.

Amazing work both, great to see it went so well for you, Mrs B, and Tyke (who looks like an absolute legend too!)
