It had been a very wet Friday morning in Bristol so we phoned ahead to make sure our mission beneficiary still wanted our help today.

Mrs P was very pleased to see us despite the fact that the wet weather meant that we were not able to use her new electric mower or strimmer which were sitting proudly in their boxes awaiting our arrival.

No matter, with plenty to do in the garden, Roz was armed with a new pair of loppers, whilst I spied some trusty old shears and we set about trimming back the hedges and bushes and brambles in the back garden.

Mrs P was the perfect host, popping her head out of the window to chat to us despite the rain and providing half-time carrot cake and cappuccino for those who desired it (that’d be me then as Roz was too busy rescuing an old barbecue that had previously disappeared in the undergrowth!)

A couple of hours later and we had done what we could and just as the sun decided to briefly pop it’s head out from behind the rain clouds we said our goodbyes to a happy Mrs P. We hope we can return to cut the grass with her shiny new equipment!

Fantastic work team! Glad you managed to grab a little bit of sunshine and you did a fabulous job, despite the rain!
