It started with a very wet and windy Wednesday afternoon when 'GoodGymmers' Kate and Dave arrived in Richmond to help Mrs C clear her bedroom. Mrs C had been sleeping in an armchair in her lounge for 3 years due to the upstairs rooms being so cluttered with rubbish and clothes. Our mission was to help clear the space, to try to make it safe for Mrs C to access the room in order to organise and remove the piles of clothes. We had a lovely chat with Mrs C but then quickly got to work when we saw all the work we had to do! We ploughed through the messy floor, picking up old children's games, glass bottles, christmas decorations and lights to name but a few of the interesting items found. After 40 minutes we celebrated as we started to see some of the floor! We had collected 6 bags of rubbish already and there was so much more in sight. We opted for a broom and teamwork to tackle the rest of the floor and within an hour we had cleared 10 bags and enough room to access the space. With a lot of clutter in all the upstairs rooms, we hope there will be future missions to help Mrs C achieve the space and cleanliness she requires to live comfortably.
