Four GoodGym runners ran to help tackle the overgrown brambles in Mr G’s garden in Croydon.

On two previous missions, GoodGym-ers had already managed to clear a portion of the brambles which had been taking over Mr G’s back yard. Today we continued the job, and were able to get another big section cleared. We were particularly pleased to tackle the brambles that were up against Mr G’s window, so that he can finally see out and get some light in.

Once again the job was hampered by the incredibly spikey thorns protruding out of every branch, so we were all careful to not get spiked too often and not to rip the plastic when bagging up the cuttings. The brilliant elongated gardening gloves that Mr G had were a great help in protecting our arms!

This mission marked Rachel’s 50th GoodGym good deed, after another milestone 50th parkrun at Lloyd Park the same morning. Several GoodGym Croydon members had also run and volunteered at Lloyd Park, so it was a busy and rewarding day for us all.  We definitely deserved that post-mission ice-cream!
