It was Tanya and Debbie's first community mission since lockdown today and they were so keen they were getting stuck in before I even arrived!

We went along to East End Women foodbank where we do our usual Thursday mission to lend a hand for an extra hour this afternoon preparing food parcels for delivery drivers and packing the cars and vans ready to go.

It was great having Rae back for her second community mission- kudos and cheers for coming along by bicycle on a super windy day by the Tyne!

Tanya did a superb job of looking important with the wheelbarrow- we just needed Michael here to wheel around like the good old days.

Well done everyone for getting stuck in- over 50 families will benefit from our help today.

East End Women
A project supporting women with skills and training, education, loneliness and domestic abuse recovery.

East End Women offers practical courses for women to build confidence and skills around DIY, sewing, pattern cutting and basic trades. We also deliver the Freedom Programme domestic abuse recovery course, helping women to better understand the roots of domestic abuse and build confidence to identify warning signs in the future. In addition to this, East End Women also offer social activities and drop-in sessions for women experiencing isolation to meet one another, make friends and build local networks.
