My second good deed of the day took me from the Deep South up to the North West, along the Thames, past Parliament Square and through the Mall, before heading up Tottenham Court Road to Primrose Hill. I had a few regrets as I panted up the North London hills (why is North London so hilly?!) and finally parked up.

Mr R buzzed me in. He showed me his wheeley trolley full of laundry, and handed me a twenty pound note. Mr R had been unlucky enough to have recently had a flood in his flat, and a lot of his linen had got soaked as a result. He needed it properly cleaned and dried before it got too musty.

So off I went, up another hill to the launderette. I hadn’t been in a launderette since I was a wee Fresher over ten years ago, and I was a bit unsure about water was doing. Masked up, I entered the building, and greeted the lady at the service desk.

She had a peek at Mr R’s washing, and agreed on a service wash, which another GoodGymmer will come and pick up tomorrow when it is hopefully all clean and dry once more. I paid the £13.50, took the receipt and plodded back down to Mr R’s flat once more. Mr R was grateful for my service, and I wished him well as I left to head down the hill and back home.

Bish bash wash. Mission complete.

So good to help Mr R recover from his flood. Well done Lucy. Laundry all collected and returned now.
