I arrived at Mr T's this afternoon to be greeted by the sight of a hammer and Stanley knife on his coffee table next to a small bottle. I asked if he'd taken up sculpture, but no, he just couldn't get the lid off his medication. He showed me the bottle which had clear signs of both frustration and scoring around the lid, but without any indication of success. With a quick press down on the lid and firm turn, I soon had the lift off, and Mr T's look of astonishment was as if I'd just performed a magic trick in front of him...
Armed with the now familiar list (extra portion of Chicken Kiev's please this week) and trolley, it was a reasonably painless trip around the aisles of a very busy Lidl. At one point I was in the cereal section when someone asked a shelf stacker where the honey was, and before I could stop myself I said out loud it was on the next aisle along...I'm not sure who was more surprised, the shopper or the assistant, but either way he found what he was after, and I've submitted my application form to work in this branch of Lidl starting next week...
