Report written by Wayne
Last night Holly, Wayne, James, Adam, Katie, and Alys met at Brookwood Farm we also had Indy and Bodhi with us to smell out the litter 🦮 Unfortunately Anne could not make it as she was feeling poorly (Hope you feel better soon Anne 😄)
Armed with litter pickers we headed towards the playing field in a short space of time we had collected all sorts from bottles to crisp packets. James who was in charge of Bodhi did some laps around the field using Bodies sense of smell to locate litter. After 30mins of collecting we decided to run along the canal and do a 5k loop.
Alys and Katie were litter picking machines they were in the groove, we finally managed to wrestle the litter picker off Alys 🗑
We were all lit up very well, and headed along the common and onto the canal. James was leading the way, or should I say Bodhi was leading the way. Canal was very quiet apart from a few cyclists. Once we got to the bridge we headed back along a dirt track back to the common, James had headed to the back of the group as Bodhi decided he had enough of running so Adam took the lead, but Adam being so quick disappeared into the darkness. Once we reached split path we were shouting for Adam, but no sign of him so continued running and then Holly screamed 😱 Adam had jumped out from behind a hedge, it was really funny.
As we got back along the canal the end was in sight the little downhill path was very welcomed. We got back to Brookwood farm in total between the 7 of us we ran 27k a job well done by everyone
Wayne said his goodbyes and headed off, while the rest of the group headed off to the pub for a well deserved drink.
This Sunday we still require volunteers for the Junior Park Run if anyone is available.
Next Wednesday we are at Brookwood station digging up some planters……
Have a great week everyone
