Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
It was the last Wandsworth run before the big vote last night, and election fever had swept through the group. It was a good job too, with one of our longest runs scheduled for the evening, we needed something to take our mind off the ‘undulating’ route.
Running Mates
Before we braved the cold, we celebrated our Wandsworth heroes, of which there were many. Well done to Jack, Dani and Laura C for covering the most mileage, and another hat tip to Jack, Laura C and David for topping the good deeds leaderboard. Jack has given the most cheers, while Matthew has done the most cheering. Way to go team!
There was also a big welcome to our lovely new runners Alix and Steve who absolutely smashed their first run. Next week will be a cinch for you guys! It was also a huge hello to Deb, our intrepid visitor from Bristol who is well on her way to 50 deeds before Christmas. Lovely to have you with us.
Front runners
It was off to Granard School in Putney for us this week. This great not-so-little primary school wanted us to come down to clear some ground and sort out their pond, and we were only too happy to help. So with Will leading the way and David backmarking we shot off to face the first of quite a few hills of the evening. Just warming you up for Gower, Jack and Tom!
Closed Primaries
After just over 3 and a half miles we arrived at the school, and set to work raking, digging and filling bags. Team one managed to get at least ‘three thirds’ of the ground cleared (that’s right isn’t it, Tom?) with Sarah and Jess lighting up the way with their ace matching headtorches. Get a head, get a torch, Wandsworth.
Meanwhile team two were making short work of the pond area, uncovering a large toad (Must. Not. Make. Election. Joke) and some mint in the process. Thanks to Deirdre, Jackie and Steve for overseeing and providing us with all the tools we needed – let us know when you need us next!
Caucus Behaviour
With time ticking on and the temperature dropping, most of us ran to Putney station to take the train back to our starting point, while a few hardy runners decided to brave the hills again and race us back to the BAC. Seriously impressive work! Meanwhile, Sophie started us off with some excellent wall squats while we waited for the train. The fun continued once we boarded, much to the amusement (we hope) of the other travellers, with Emma demonstrating the perfect chin up on the luggage rack.
Back at the BAC we cheered home the other runners, and wished Deb luck for her upcoming epic three-race Saturday. A big good luck to all running Gower this weekend as well.
Great to have you along for the run as always everybody. Next week we will be Rocky-ing it up delivering community garden leaflets in a high rise. Get ready for some serious steps! You can sign up here:

ps I was told that our regular CoRUNdrum was far too easy this week so I’m not even going to repeat it here. Next week it’s going to be all killer and no filler.
