What better way to start the day than with a good deed?
2 runners decided to give up their sleep and wake up early this dark Tuesday morning to go and help Glass Door by shifting around 8 heavy tables at St Cuthbert's emergency winter shelter. The hall is used as an emergency shelter every Monday evening (there are 7 St Cuthbert’s churches which provide shelter at different nights of the week) In order to create more space, the portable tables and chairs are put aside before welcoming people in need of sheltering and these tables and chairs need to be put back into place by 7am in the morning.
By the time I (Arba) arrived at the shelter 6.25 AM Jenny was already helping with setting up the tables with the assistance of the manager on site. Being as speedy as Flash, by 6.35 AM, we managed to get everything back to place and were ready to head our directions (Jen going to work and Arba heading back to her bed for some more recharge).
