Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Ashley
Ashley and Ellen were met at the Wilsoncroft Community Centre and soon realised it was more that just us attending. There were about 40 people there from all over the community ready to litter pick. After a short introduction, everyone were split up into teams to concentrate on specific roads around the community centre. After a short while we were loaded down with a full bag and half a car bumper so headed back to offload. We then made our way to the next road only to find a small dumping ground. After an hour of cleaning up we'd filled 4 bags which we left by a local bin and called it a day. Included in the haul were parts of a bike, an umbrella, an office chair and a football. Once we returned back to the centre we were the last ones in, fearing that our bacon cobs were lost, but the nice people at the centre literally saved our bacon and we were rewarded for our days efforts.
Run the local community centre, 2 charity shops, fundraise, run a mini bus which does shopping trips, days out, etc. Weekly lunch club, Free activities for children during the holidays, and much more.
