Wooden it be nice?

What a gorgeous morning the group had this morning, most of us had been to parkrun and made our way to the woodlands to lend a hand with some tidying up.
This weekend was the great butterfly count, so we kept our eyes peeled and agreed to take a break to be still and look for some pilipala - yes, this is by far the best welsh word in the entire language.
The woodlands were very dry, not surprising since the weather has been incredible but very dry. We were limited to tidying and trying to get out brambles that were creeping onto the pathways. The gang did a great job and the bramble pile grew, and we had a lovely sit in a glade of the woods to count butterflies - only 1 was spotted, but we did learn that the woodlands now has nesting sparrow hawks so the wildlife is thriving there!
We will head back next month for more fun.
