With a full moon shining down from above and Halloween just around the corner, it was time to get spooky at Good Gym Waltham Forest (GGWF) tonight as we visited one of our old favourites, The Mill.
The Mill's website says it is Walthamstow's living room and that for me perfectly sums up this essential, warm and welcoming community centre. There is always something on here be it yoga for cyclists, a knitting club or a children's' Halloween Party (this Sunday at 1.30 pm if you are interested!)
The latter is where GGWF came in and the task for tonight was to prepare some spooky craft creatures - or at least their body parts - in preparation for some fun activities for the little'uns to make up this Sunday.
So backtrack to Mirth, Marvel and Maud and ten GGers formed a circle but fortunately instead of satanic incantations, we merely talked about the task and did a head count. We did take up Ruby's suggestions and named our favourite horror movie as we went around though.
With that out the way, we headed down the high street to our destination. When we arrived, we met Helen on site. Helen and her colleague, Natasha had set the task up for us very well with clear instructions and everything prepared in a neat and orderly manner - thanks so much to both of these guys as it meant we could hit the ground running.
I won't go into too much detail as the photos say it all but there was lots of chatting and snipping for most of us. Meanwhile, Alex and Ramon did a great job installing some Halloween decorations.
After, preparing lots of spiders and other spooky characters, we bid our Mill friends good night and headed out to undertake a 1-mile time trial. Pacing out the route first then back to the start line to do it all again but this time quickly! And quick indeed it was, these guys tore it up. Check out these results

Smokin'
After that, we had a nice cool down jog, although it was about a mile uphill! Arriving back at base for another lovely chilled mini-yoga stretch session courtesy of Jo.
And that wasn't the end of the night as several lucky people headed into Mirth for drinks and Jo's amazing Banana Bread. If you were thinking of becoming a vegan but thought you might miss cake, think again; this stuff was so good it makes you wonder why anyone would ever whisk and egg. Full of fabulous flavour and textures it would have made Mary Berry weep.
Thanks to all who took part and to those who couldn't make it, we missed you guys. Hope to see you soon.
That's me done

The Mill is more than a community centre – it’s Walthamstow’s living room. A home from home for anyone to drop in, read the papers, view an art exhibition, browse the honesty library, join a group or activity (or start up their own one), use the playroom or hire space for a party or workshop.
