Saturday morning took us to Mrs R's back yard where our task was to clear the over grown mess ready for Spring. Armed with gloves, a few of Andrew's "mission pack" tools and the will of a GoodGymmer, we got cracking. Soon enough, weeds were diminishing and the carpet of pine needles from the dominating tree was clearing, exposing all the soil and moss below. This delightfully attracted a feathered friend who was eager to move in and take advantage of all the insects being exposed. There was a little pond in the corner which we fished out some rubbish but left the more scenic of the greenery round the edges, and a few of the fallen pine cones which made nice decoration. About an hour later and four very large bin bags we summoned Mrs R who was very pleased. The slippery moss cleared from the overgrown paving stones, she can now go out and hang her washing without worry and enjoy sitting in the sunshine (when it's warmer!). A very satisfying mission indeed!
