Report written by Euclides Montes
Seven indefatigable Goodgymmers visited the wonderful Luos last night to help with some much needed tidying up.
Everything but the kitchen sink
Everybody at Luos has been busy during this lockdown being absolute heroes and playing a key role in the community response to the pandemic. So when they called to say they needed a bit of help tidying up the grounds and the al fresco pizza oven area, we made our way there post-haste!
We removed some old sinks and tables from the pizza piazza and proceeded to de-leaf the area. And let me tell you, leaf-ful it was.
We also cleared one of the side paths, making it accessible for the community as Luos is preparing to open its doors to the public again.
We even managed a litter pick of the whole grounds.
Before you could say 'are there any oranges tonight?', dark had descended upon the proceedings so Gramps called it a night as zero visibility and sharp tools give him the heebie-jeebies.
Leyla and co had prepared some freshly-cut oranges and fancy posh yoghurt for us at the greenhouse, and our Goodgymmers didn't have to be asked twice to tuck in.
Leyla then sent us into the night, with fresh broccoli and pasta. Going to Luos is really like going to visit a much-loved auntie rather than a volunteering opp. And we are here for it!
