Half an hour and two bags of litter. Hilly Field is a bit better for it. Some litter had seen at least 30 Christmases go by. It is odd to throw litter and curious to walk past it and leave it on the floor, especially in a lovely area like Hilly Fields. (wow that was politely put)
Among our haul was a very large sponge, lots of sweet packets, clear plastics, cans of convenience food, beer and soft drinks and a discarded Oranjeboom beer!
One day the idea that countries like Norway do, whereby you pay a tax and get that back on returning bottles and cans for recycling, may come in...😉
I would just like to add how massively proud I am off members old, new, regular and all the rest.
Seasons Greetings and be good, safe and keep spreading happiness.

3 tasks over 3 days of eventful organised chaos that contributed to a great Eco Festival! Thanks to all those who helped on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday, Jade, James and Robin helped to move barriers and set up gazebos in preparation for the Eco Festival, with the aid of electric cargo bikes and electric trailers.
On Saturday, Naomi and Tiff gave out programmes to people coming to the Festival, while Jade helped with washing up mugs at the bowling green.
On Sunday, James came to help move 125 barriers with volunteers across the park using a mix of 3 electric trailers as well as some good old fashioned muscle.
Hope everyone enjoyed helping out - If there is an Eco Festival next year we'll be calling on Goodgym for help once again.

Ten high street planters weeded and tidied by ten brilliant goodgymers in an hour - well done everyone! Colchester's town centre will be blooming again soon.
We dropped off the tools and weeds at the end of the task and were rewarded with rhubarb and cardoon. Er, yum? Thanks Pam!
There will be new plants going into the planters soon, and we'll be doing more tasks for Colchester in Bloom in a couple of weeks.

Ben Plummer cheered by other people 25 times.
Ben is part of a crowd that's making a huge noise. Ben has been cheered by 25 people - that's a round of applause just on their own. We hope they keep it up.
