Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner
Brenda, Jen, Diya and Kanika joined other volunteers at the Summer Fair at Furze Platt Junior School. What started as a breezy and cool morning turned into a beautiful day as families poured in.
Brenda started the first hour at the Tambola stall before joining Jen at the Tea and Refreshments for the second hour - extra claps for both on doing two sessions!
Diya took charge of the nerf-gun stall and even got a visit from the police to make sure the guns were legal ๐
Kanika handled the golf green cheering on the little golfers all trying to land the ball on a ยฃ5 note for the win. On finishing her session and handing over to the next volunteer, she joined Diya at the nerf-gun just as she was being swamped by eager young shooters and a certain excited councillor (and GoodGymmer) Jack.
Such a fun day for the families and volunteers alike!

Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Mandy Driver
Thursday at 6:15pm is GoodGym Windsor Night! ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
Tonight we were at Windsor and Eton FC CIC to due to the weather to instead help in the clubhouse removing some paint that had not been applied properly and was easily coming away. Was lovely to see the tables we had sanded at previous sessions all smooth and painted โฅ๏ธ
Zoe, Devon and Mandy had a social run from The Binoy to the task and Jen, Brenda and Caroline met us there.
Itโs was Brendaโs first Thursday session and it was her 10th ๐๐ป Goodgym task so huge well done Brenda!
We were met by task owners and given the indoor task due to the incoming rain. Zoe picked some 80s tunes and we were supplied with scrapers to get all the paint off the wall panels. It was very satisfying watching the paint just peeling off. Then a sand down was required to ensure the surface was ready for painting. It was one of those tasks where it looks like we made it worse ๐คฃ but it needed to be done. Then we tidied up and gave it a quick vacuum.
We just about scraped through ๐คฃ one wall so we may have to finish the others another time.
Mandy insisted on a bit of footy action โฝ๏ธ (there was no e-scraping it) with the sponge ball at the end although I donโt thing any of us will be asked to sign up for the team ๐ฌ
A quick curtsy and bow ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐๐ปโโ๏ธand we made our way back.
Thank you as always for attending ๐๐ป

Windsor and Maidenhead Report written by Windsor and Maidenhead runner
A warm(ish) Wednesday evening back at Maidenhead Community Allotment saw 10 GoodGymers facing a long list of jobs to do. But there was no point in losing the plot because, as we all know, manure hands make light work.
So, we quickly set to our tasks, which included: shovelling soil from one overfilled raised bed to another empty one, trimming the side branches off of some tree cuttings so they can be tree-cycled as canes for the plants, and tipping horse poo into plastic compost bins so it can mature.
As always, there was lots to chat about as we went, and it was lovely to welcome new member Samrita, all the way from Reading, and to welcome back familiar face Meggie, all the way from Italy! It was also brilliant to have Mother/Daughter dream team Brenda and Jen visiting from Slough. We hope to see you all again soon.
We made a good start on digging trenches for runner beans in one of the beds weโd just dug, when, before we knew it, it was time to down tools. But we were pleased with how much we managed to get done in just over an hour, which shows what you can achieve if you keep calmย andย carrotย on.

Slough Report written by Slough runner
Jen and Brenda met Bob and the BBOWT amd Friends of Haymill volunteers on a rainy morning.
The only job today was to work our way along the outside of the perimeter fence, cutting back the hedge that was encroaching on, and taking over in places, the public pavement.
Brambles and Ivy were kept in check with loppers whilst the rake and brush were put to good use to clear up the cuttings so we could move them back in the undergrowth by the fence.
