10 ran to MENCAP to paint the dining room
This week we welcomed Ian who will become trainer for Ipswich in a couple of weeks and he helped with several aspects of the session. We began with a fun warm up led by Ian before setting off on the short run to the MENCAP Office where we were greeted by Grace once again. We quickly set to task coating everything that was not yellow already, except for the wood work which was painted white. A big effort from the team and we managed to cover everything and leave it looking good.
With the clearing up taking a little time we drank our tea (and one Coffee) and helpfully tidied up the biscuits too. we then grabbed a quick photo and set off into the night! Well, off to central park that is, so that Ian could put us through our paces. A fun circuit with various exercises involving balance and coordination was perfect to end the evening. We wish him all the best when Ipswich opens!
Next week we are preparing the interact garden for their garden party, and we have a long list of jobs! see you then!

Cate has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Cate is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

11 ran to City MENCAP to paint their dining room
Mencap HQ was in need of a spruce up so we set off to give the dining room a lick of paint, but not before welcoming newbie Kateto the squad.
The run was relatively short so we followed the river and ran through the subway to the venue. We were met by Grace who outlined the task and made us tea and biscuits! one coat of yellow paint was applied to almost every bit of wall we could get to and the room was soon looking much brighter. We even had time to clear up the mess from the sanding too. Big shout to James who had come straight from painting at home to do more for us!
Then it was off to Central park to celebrate the retirement of Usain Bolt by doing some sprints. We decided to do 40m runs as this was how far he got in his relay leg and went through the different phases of sprinting with starts, drive phase and a tall and relaxed finish.
Next week we are back to finish the job (the painting, not the sprinting) and hope to leave the room looking awesome!
