A post Covid record turnout!!! Five of us, thatās Caprice, Marianne, Char, Keith and Lea, turned up outside St Michaelās schoolā¦ All eager to get on with our task, Caprice and Char had a surprise start to the session, having to climb over the accidentally locked gate š¤šš¤£! After Rachel pointed out the weeds to be pulled, and more weeds and some more weedsā¦ the big question was: is this a weed or is this a flower? But we all got stuck in quickly and filled a wheeley bin with lots of weeds and probably the occasional flower or twoš¤. Overseeing the process was our garden gnome all of 5 centimeters of him. And legs in shorts and hands without glovesā¦ get very dirty! Butā¦ another good weed for the day done.

This week's task was give Meyrick Park a spruce up to keep it looking amazing.
We decided to stick together this time rather than fork out into pairs which meant we were able to have a chat the whole way through. This combined with walking in nature turned this task into an amazing therapy session!
We hit all the hot spots but everywhere we went looked pretty tidy. Great not to find many disposable masks, but wet wipes were high on the found list.
Our mini game was to see how many items we could find starting with the letter L.... Daryl was a magnet for McDonalds cups with lids on!
After an hour of chatting and forest bathing, we called it a day with three respectable bin bags half full, a crutch and a granny trolley to add to our random finds list!
Great to have Lottie along again as well as Charlotte who both are training for various events. Charlotte taking on her first Marathon in Manchester later in the year.
Well done to Daryl for completing a mission to help and elderly lady in the garden during the week.
Marianne, did you manage a short run last night after the good deed? Hope so!
Sean, what's tour next charity fundraising effort going to be??
Next week we're at the care home to do some odd jobs. And the week after IS OUR FIRST GROUP RUN BACK!!!
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

This week the challenge took on a slighty different focus....a more thepeutic one or a least one more for the mind.
Some stunning sunrise and sunset photos.
Lovely faces being lit up by sunshine.
Reaching new milestones.
Waking up that little bit earlier to see a different light.
And helping someone along the way.
Well done everyone, thank you for sharing your photos and bringing a little bit of extra joy to eachother's week.
New challenge coming up...

The gang were given new challenges this week, and at first sight it looked like some of the tasks would be difficult.... Run everyday, Monday to Thursday?? Crazy! Mini Triathlon???
In the end I think we were surprised how easy some were and how tricky others were.
I failed on the statue task...a mannequin counts though right??
We had some great squirrel shots...some a little more evil looking than others.
Marianne getting creative and improvising her goodgym selfie!
Some getting on Beryl bikes to complete the triathlon and some interesting music and podcast choices!
All great fun indeed! I hope you guys enjoyed exploring a little and having something to push for on your daily outings!
Tune in on Monday for the week 3 challenge!

On the agenda for this week was giving Meyrick Park a bit of a makeover.
It attracted 10 of the best!
Lea, fresh off her exploits of appearing in the Guardian in an article about her part in the keeping Bournemouth tidy efforts with the amazing Dorset Devils. Glad there wasn't any human excrement this time round!! And she topped that by completing her 15th Good deed!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!
Emma and Lea are seasoned pro's so they brought their own litter pickers, and Emma even had her own reusable "bin bag".
Only a couple didn't bring gloves....which now reminds me there wasn't a forfeit for them!!! DAMN!!! That's ok....I'll remember for next time...I think?
We have a very committed group, you know....Charlotte managed to step on a Weever fish in the morning, went to work and then still turned up to do some good with us! And Lea, along with now having to deal with being famous, had a pretty serious cut on her head from an accident on Tuesday and still turned up!
With bikes locked up, gloves on and litter pickers at hand we set off....in two naturally forming groups....boys and girls....it just happened. And it was amicable!
Daryl, Sam and Sean combed the right hand side of the park, finding less than expected behind the toilets.... Sue, Hannah, Emma, Lea, Karen and Char set off across the field to the left side of the park.
We soon converged at the top of the park and the main entrance to the park where the team hit the jackpot!
Sue and Karen managed to itsy bitsy spider lots off cans up and over a fence with their pickers....Hannah and Daryl managed to break theirs....
Char discovered 2013 ear buds and then took it upon herself to pick them all up and then we all wondered what the ear buds were being used for...except Emma she gagged each time we mentioned ear wax hahaha
Hannah forced me to climb a tree to get a bag down that had been safely stored away...we felt bad and put it back...I miss climbing trees!
Lea reported some fly tipping, Sam probably was possessed...in a good way! Each time he headed off into the bushes he came back with loads of stuff!
In the end we filled up all our bags, spent time outdoors together, left things better than when we arrived and headed home feeling that little bit better than when we started. Improving your life by just 1% can have a great impact.
What's your 1% going to look like today?
Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Charlotte Bourton earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Charlotte completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Charlotte was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
