GoodGym woking take on the parish church, another good deed completed!!
Last night we welcomed Ravi to his first GoodGym group run. It was lovely to meet you and to hear all about you and we hope that we see you again at our next group run. We also welcomed back Connor who has been missing for a few weeks, or has just been lazy and a fair weather runner!!
We set off from our normal meeting point of Woking Leisure Centre and heading to Woodham. The route is around 3.1Km each way. We had two groups this week. With myself, Matthew, Connor and Ravi in the front group. It just meant we had slightly more time for sanding door frames at the task... not always a perk!! Then we had Anne, Nicholas with Willow and Abi in the second group... I heard it was an interesting run with obviously no moaning from the girls at all!!
Once we made it to Woodham , All Saints Parish Church we got straight to work. Sanding door frames, hoovering and then giving them a coat of undercoat. Working great as team everyone got to work. You could feel the concentration in the room!! We have been to the Parish Church a few times now, we have watched it change colour and see it come back to life again! With a job complete it was time to head back. Back the way they came with group 1 trying to catch up with group 2, who left ten mins earlier.
Next week
We will be doing two tasks next week. One will be leafleting and the other will hopefully be at the allotment. Remember to sign up!
Goodluck
Goodluck to anyone racing this weekend, I know myself, Wayne and Nick will be at Muscle acre on Sunday for a very muddy obstacle course. I also know GoodGym member Tiffany, even though shes away she is still planning on completing her mileage for the month!! Also good luck in your training. I know a few people have big events happening next year and a lot of training is required so remember to keep going!

Thank you very MULCH Woking GG members!!
This week we had the great pleasure of welcoming not one but TWO new members to our group run. Jackie and Rachael were welcomed last night by a surprise bootcamp session by Nick, we do hope you come back and join us and we didn't scare you off.
Last night we were back for our monthly task with Kingsmoor Housing developed. Every month we join Joesph and he gives us a task to help with the development. We had the job of laying some Mulch onto a planting area. It was a great surprise to him that we had a lovely turn out of people so we managed to complete our task a lot quicker than expected. Next month when we are there we will be working with the Wildlife trust and the development.
So after a run to the development and back we headed to Woking Park for a mini bootcamp session. A group of exercises - first round 30 sesconds to see how many you could do. After a lap round the park, we came back for round 2. This was to complete the highest number set by the person in round 1. After a mulch needed cool down lap and stretch we had made it!
Next week
We are heading to Woking Foodbank to help. This will be inside but we will be doing a workout in the park area after. Please get signed up to help a fantastic cause!
Good luck
Good luck to members who are taking part in races this weekend. We have Wayne taking on the Spartan Beast on Saturday - over 21km of obstacles and mud and I will be taking part in the Spartan Super on Sunday.
Fancy some more training....
You are all welcome to join us on a Thursday evening with Pack Fitness members - 7:30pm Pirbright Green - Ave De Cagny is the name of the road where there is a car park.
Thursday 20th September 2018
Conor Reid completed 10 good deeds with GoodGym.
Conor has done 10 good deeds. They are a trusted GoodGym runner and are now eligible to join their local TaskForce.

A great turn out at the RSPCA by Woking GG Members
I hope you have all recovered from last nights action and you haven't got to many thorn injuries or annoying stinging nettle tingles! Thank you for last nights action, we got a lot done in such a short time!
A big Hello and welcome to Hayley and Rebecca who joined us on their first Group run experience. I hope you enjoyed yourselves and look forward to seeing you again soon!
Last night we split into two team with myself, Claud, Ant and Anne taking on the paddock and cutting back the edges. With Conor, Mark, Rebecca, Hayley and Lou taking on the lane, they had the job of trimming the over hanging trees and bushes and cutting back the brambles. Whilst at the RSPCA we met a lovely little pony called Fidget who I think fancied coming home with us - Luckily our dog wouldn't get along with a Pony so Nick and I won't be taking on a Pony!!
Race Time
There are now many members entering races which is excellent to hear. With Anne taking on Winsor 10km in a couple of weeks and Lou about to complete her 70th Half Marathon!!!!! She will be doing this at Winchester half marathon! A massive well done!!!!
Training Run
Fancy coming along for a run - on a thursday night we take out runners of all abilities. You will need a head torch due to it getting darker so much earlier as we discovered last night! We leave at 7:30pm from Pirbright Green. If you have any questions then please get in touch but you are all more than welcome to join us!
Next week
Next week - please sign up and join us at Kingfield primary school - we will be leaving from Woking leisure center at 6:45pm!! sign up here

GG Woking run to Church
We would like to welcome a new member to our group run Sally , we hope you enjoyed your first GoodGym Woking experience and we didn't frighten you to much and you will be back for some more.
This weeks group run took place at all saints parish hall. We have been there a few times before to help revamp the hall. In the past we have painted and sanded the entrance hallway skirting boards and have also managed to sand and paint the entire hall skirting boards. This time we were on to door frames in the hall. As we had a good turn out we had Connor and myself outside ashing the windows.
We had a little bit of an extra run due to our change of starting place which added an extra 1km each way. We managed a 7km run in total. With Helen meeting us there after running from the different direction and Wayne meeting us in the woods (sounds a little creepy).
We managed to complete our tasks - yet again! A big well done and thank you to everyone who came. We did find out that Connor cannot throw a stick in the right direction!
A big Good luck to Lou who is heading down to Dorset on Friday and will be taking part in White Star Running's East Farm Frolic. A 10km on the Saturday followed by a 12hr Frolic on the Sunday!!! Impressive!!!
Next Week
We are heading to Brockhill - who knows what they have planned for us!!

Which Way??
Two Woking GG Teams take on the whole of Kingsmoor Park Development
Last nights action took place in a new housing development in Woking. Joseph from Thames Valley Housing called on our help to help deliver 3 different leaflets to each house in the development. First we all got to enjoy a 3km jog to the development, it was a beautiful scenic route. I had no idea where I was for most the way there but it was nice to enjoy what Woking had to offer.
We arrived in the development, Joseph gave us an introduction and explained what the leaflets were aiming to do. It's very much building a community in such a new development. We split ourselves into two teams, each with a map and many leaflets we got to work. We managed to cover every house and flat and met some lovely people, cats and dogs along the way.
We are already booked in for two more good deeds with Kingsmoor, the next one will be in September and we will be at their allotment helping out.
After a shorter return journey back to Woking Leisure Center we managed to cover over 7km. And even with some cheeky Blackberry picking along the way.
Well Done every one for helping us manage to complete another Good Deed for Woking GoodGym. Remember to spread the word to your friends and drag them a long.
Group Runs to come
8/8 - We will be out on force to help Woking Hospice. 15/8 - Canal run and tidy 22/8 - decorating at all saints church 29/8 - Brockhill care home 5/9 - Kingsmoor Park Allotment
