Nine Goodgym Runner went to Central Square Hampstead to meet and plog the local green space and streets. The square is the centrepiece of Hampstead Garden suburb having two beautiful churches on its Boundry. It was a good place to meet and chat. We introduced ourselves and discussed things to do now that lockdown had eased. The cinema was mentioned along with pubs and restaurants. I mentioned a cycle ride to the ice cream factory in Arkley highly recommended although watch out for the big hills en route! https://www.lewisoflondon.co.uk/ice-cream-farm/visit-us/. Do you want to take on the ice cream challenge run, cycle or walk?
We also talked about the 2000 isolated people that have been helped by goodgym during lockdown and a special mention was made for Danny and John with 254 and 324 good deeds respectively. We did a short warm up and the headed off to the heath extension in pairs and threes. It was surprisingly messy with rubbish and over the 45 minutes we managed to deposit quite a few bags. We returned to the square and those that had time joined in with a short fitness session of sprints, press ups and squats. We finished off with some stretching as the sun started to set. Thanks for coming, running and doing some good!
Lovely evening on the Heath extension picking up litter and meeting new folks. Nice to see how London joins up and discover new green spaces. Sarah

Six Goodgym people came together to litter pick at cherry tree woods in East Finchley. It had threatened to rain but Abi arrived just-in-time to ward off any storm clouds and we had a dry litter pick. Barnet Council had generously given us brand-new litter pickers, bags and gloves to help our local community. We split into teams of 2 to scour the park for rubbish. It was the usual variety of items thrown into bushes or long grass. and after about 45 minutes we headed back to the main entrance and said our goodbyes. Until next time. keep moving Paul

Northway Gardens is a linear park comprising three areas of gardens through which the Mutton Brook runs in a channel, lined in parts by weeping willows. The gardens have tennis courts, woodland ,open grass and formal gardens. Worth a visit! The community gardens are insect friendly with an interesting array of wild and cultivated plants All is organic and no weedkillers are used.
All compleded the mission over a period of a few days while maintaining good social distancing. The weather looked great for everyone! See various photos taken by the group.
