Ellie Carter earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Ellie completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Ellie was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

5 fantastic Goodgymmers helped deliver the Braunstone Alert, a brochure by tje charity B-inspired, to tell the community about the events they have and the valuable foodshare service they offer, supporting the community.
Pleased to see Ellie come running down the street looking happy, Huw was running afterwards as the last week of his marathon plan, Shelia running later with her friends and Tommo walked around the corner from home.
Team work definitely got the task done quicker, we paired up to post on opposite sides of the road, each posting every other door then raced to the top of the street. 6 streets later the team had delivered 350 brochures in 1 hour. Fantastic effort all round I couldn't believe how fast everyone was.
Weldone all for coming and bringing the sunshine with you, B-inspired pass on their appreciation, hopefully by reaching out to a new area for them more people will know about the services they offer for the community. Keep up doing good and getting fit at the same time, weldone.
Good luck to Huw running Manchester Marathon on Sunday!

8 Goodgymmers actively made their way to Abbey Park, the lovely sunny weather has made everyone so active! Dave ran from home, after 5 miles yesterday, Stu had ran 10 miles in the morning, Martin came on foot after a great track session the previous night and Ellie came back for her 2nd Goodgym session and she ran to the task! Amazing especially for someone who has just started running, taking on a 3 mile round trip, keep up the brilliant running efforts.
We all walked over the park to the Woman's Aid Leicestershire Reflective garden, the aim this evening was to gently weed and tidy the garden being careful around the beautiful flowers that had appeared from the bulbs planted at the start of the year. There were quite a few seedlings from the above trees that needed moving to give the flowers in the garden the best chance for the garden to look inviting to passers by and anyone in need of help from Woman's Aid with their contact information on the bench.
Lovely idea that Ellie decided some of the saplings were joining her for her run home where she planted them in a pot to give them a new life, keep us updated on their progress what a lovely idea best of luck.
We had the tamest Robin come and see what we were up to, pleased we helped him find a few worms. In no time the garden was looking much tidier ready for the Woman's Aid Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. Weldone team fantastic effort all round, lovely photo's by Mel.

Last night 5 GoodGymmers ran 2 miles to Baby Basics Leicester, with Tommo honking us on the way to meet us there. We were joined by not 1 but 2! New members to group sessions, pleased to meet you both Ellie and Cathy. Big shout to Jimmy who was a real credit to the group last night, supporting Ellie on the run. Joining us and not being a regular runner can be daunting at first but everyone starts or gets back into running somewhere and Jimmy was there to support, fantastic efforts from Ellie, to run 2 miles twice is an amazing start and you should be really proud.
On to the task, tonight we paired up and got stuck in to cot building. All the cots kindly donated to Baby Basics must be safety checked making sure families in need have all the pieces needed, a very important job needing many pairs of hands, perfect for us Goodgymmers.
The first cot up was Ellie and Cathy, the girls team rocked! Followed by Stu and Tommo who were very proud of their master piece, me and the task owner Laura helped out Jimmy, because sadly the 3 cots he tried to build had missing parts- Sandwich short of a picnic. Just shows how worthwhile spending the time to check them really is.
With 20 minutes left we scurried upstairs to sort some donated baby clothes, the team got though about 5 bags in no time, restocking the stored clothing which is much needed when just this Leicester Baby Basics helps 70 families a month!
Weldone everyone a really enjoyable evening 4 miles running with company, Jimmy Cycled to the task, I ran, and a very good deed along the way, Laura from Baby Basics was very thankful to you all, weldone team smashing work, hope to see you again soon.
