We welcomed 2 new runners to the @GGSHEFF family last night. A big whoop, hola and cheer for;
Hope to see you on another run soon!
This week we were back off to an old fave that is the Abbeydale Picture House to continue helping CADS with their great efforts in restoring this amazing building and bringing back into former glory for use within the artistic industries and local community.
After posing for the first of many angelic photos for Kim's 101st GG Run we flew off down the street towards our destination.
On arrival we were met by SENSATIONAL STEVE & SUPER SAVERIO who gave us a brief of the nights tasks which included;
All teams got straight to it and made a huge impact in a small space of time, we had passer by's asking us about how to join and much awe and wonder for the work we were doing.
Once our time was up we headed home via the U-Mix park for some paired fitness activities which this week included;
Once home and stretched we heard the latest news which sadly included the news that long standing member Chris will soon be heading back to Germany. Chris has been a great member of the family, contributing loads of her time and energy into GG and being a really fantastic and social member of the group. Chris, you will be sorely missed by all and thanks so much for all of your help and time and enthusiasm!
Until next time, happy running :)

GG Sheffield were back at Heeley People’s Park and showed just how much 36 people can achieve in a limited timeframe – we managed to cover the length of a path (twice!) and a rock climbing area with wood chip, with members shovelling wood chip or running with wheelbarrows and buckets – top mulching team!
We were joined by new members Jackie and Sarah – welcome to Good Gym!
And by Adam from H.O.M.E., a newly launched charity whose mission is to get every homeless person in Sheffield a safe place to sleep. You can follow the charity on Twitter: H.O.M.E.
A big shout out to James and Tim who both arrived on time to celebrate their 50th Good Deed – a great contribution to GG Sheffield chaps – and who both looked very chipper (apologies for that terrible pun) in their 50th bow ties.
Having completed our work at the Park, run leader Sam brought us back via the Park Hill amphitheatre where he entertained us (and bemused members of the public sitting there) by having us running and doing press-ups & burpees/ star jumps to the tune of The Police’s Roxanne. In an ideal world he would have had the exhausted group running back to the Showroom to the sound of Every Breath You Take but apparently Health & Safety Regulations prevent us from doing press-ups on the ring-road...

Welcome to new runner Mike Smith! Give him a cheer!
We headed for another return visit to Abbeydale Picture House, whereupon we split into groups to carry out a variety of RENOVATION tasks:
Thanks to SUPER STEVE for organising things there.
On the way back we stopped for some FITNESS, starting with some BOX JUMPS before pairing up for QUADRUPLE TROUBLE. A repeat (on a grander scale) of last weeks meet & retreat paired exercise where pairs started at opposite ends, met in the middle for a high 5 and ran back to their start point to complete 10 reps of an exercise before sprinting back to meet their partner for another high 5 and the next exercise.
On the last leg to base at the Showroom we squeezed in a couple of SPRINTS too.
Well done to HEROIC HELEN for reaching 50 good deeds. There is now a bow tie to commemorate the achievement. She was the first lucky recipient to wear it!
I reached 100 good deeds, and as such got to lead the session sporting the Sheffield GG angel wings and winged helmet ensemble.

On the hotest day of the year a super hot @GGSHEFF crew welcomed no less than 5 brand new hotties to the @GGSHEFF family, a big whoop, hola and cheers to our new runners;
Give em a follow by clicking on their name.
It was a forking hot day so we took it nice and steady on the way out with a few loop backs thrown in to keep everyone together.
Once we arrived at Heeley People's Park we were greeted by FANTASTIC FRANK who had already made Kat & Ash team captains for the evenings tasks which this week included a whole lotta weeding! We split into our two teams focusing on two troublesome areas and got straight to it filling tonne bags with weeds and finding all sorts of interesting finds along the way including a hubcap that Steve made into a new contender for the Turner Prize (you had to be there), an old school winch and a pumped up football which was donated to Frank and HPP.
It was so hot I nearly soiled myself - Roberto Kenning.
After a good spell, you could really see the huge impact we had on the area with Frank singing our praises in disbelief!
Before we headed off SENSATIONAL STEVE spotted an opportunity to make some human ART ATTACK using the hill of the crows nest as a vantage point to create a Human GG logo which is tonight's group photo and I think you'll all agree came out fantastic and was a great idea, cheers Steve-o!
On the way back we stopped of at one of our fave parks to get in a quick 1km time trial run around a conveniently marked track around the park. It was three laps and everyone put in a great effort! Don't forget to tag your run on STRAVA with #GGOlympics2018
On arrival back at base we stretched and heard all the latest news inc congrats for all the Round SHF Run runners and vol's - Great work!
BIG THANKS to TERRIFIC TOM HARMAN for doing all the fantastic photos for tonights report, a great eye you have!
Until next week, happy running!
