Woking Report written by Woking runner
Adam, Anne, Claud and Katie met at the WWF car park and ran along the canal to Brockhill Care Home to join Josh and Sharon. It was lovely to see Katie and Josh after a long break.
The ladies at Brockhill Care Home were surprised to see us earlier than usual. It must have been thanks to Claud’s running pace. Everything was ready for us, from water for the runners to brushes and pots of varnish.
We tackled the varnishing of some of the garden furniture while being cheered by a couple of residents. We talked about Claud’s running prowess when achieving the challenge of walking, running or riding 150k in 15 days. With two friends, she managed to raise more than £3000 for the RSPCA England. One of Adam’s skills is to run each week 20k to Frimley and back to take part in a martial art session… while Katie and Anne ran 8k encouraging each other to keep going… good practice for Katie’s half marathon next March.
We hope to be able to return soon the Brockhill Care Home first because we always feel so welcome but also as they have several sets of chairs and tables requiring some attention.
From now on, we should remember to bring our torches, as the evenings get dark rather early! We ran back to Woking along the road via Horsell to ensure safety.
Next Wednesday we should return to the allotment to get ready to plant some vegetables for the winter months.
Happy running to everyone!

Well done to everyone who took part in the Surrey Half
Last Night at GG
Meeting at the WWF last night we were heading off to Woodham Parish Church. With Adam and Owen leading the way down a muddy canal, it looked like Sally-Anne stepped in some rather muddy deep puddles.
With everyone at the Church it was up to Adrain to set and give out the tasks for the evening. He is always so well prepared for us. He had three jobs - * Grass seed duty, with raking the soil and sowing the seeds and raking it again. * The inside job which took place in the entrance to the hall of cleaning down the walls and then giving it a coat of paint. * and Clearing Leaves
With everyone so busy doing their jobs and the topic of the evening, of course the corona virus and how it is effecting people's day to day to routines. A big thank you to every one for their hard work and for everyone being so helpful.
Next week every day the corona virus information is changing and with that in mind ... please can you keep an eye out on the GG website for more information, especially with next week's task meant to be taking place in a care home.

Josh Flynn earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Josh completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Josh was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

We were not sure if this mornings junior park run was going ahead due to the windy conditions, but an inspection by the race organisers it was decided it was safe enough.
Myself, James, Anne, Adam , and Josh braved the storm and got the the park, after a safety briefing which was particularly important today, we welcomed an amazing 30 runners who turned up in these conditions to do the run…👏🏻
Once the warm up was done we all headed to our marshalling point, just before the race it was decided to slightly deviate from the usual path of the course as a tree had fallen over one of the bridges by the duck pond, 🌬🌳
The kids where fantastic all of them completing the course. After the last runners had gone through James wanted us to go and remove the tree, but it was decided that it was nit a good idea, James and Anne went off for their usual post junior run Mc’D’S….
Myself , Josh , and Adam headed home…
See you all on Wednesday, at the Allotments…..
