8 goodgymers met on a sunny sunday morning to go for a run and share the Streettag love by putting down floorstickers in the boroughs parks and playgrounds. There was no time play though just lots of area to cover! Jane took off on her ebike to meet up with Kay in New Malden who set off on foot to her local parks, Jane then spun off to Chessington. Rob, Adam, Rush and Rosi took off for a long run to Surbiton and Tolworth picking up Kate on the way whilst Martel plodded around Kingston. After 13k+ for the long runners and 9k for my shorter effort some met back up for a nice cool drink and refeul. It was a great mission promoting walking and running around Kingston and hopefully some new goodgym members will be tempted along with the help of @streettag we have even started a Goodgym Streettag team. Great to meet Adam from Woking & Rosi and to see Rush, Rob, Jane again it was a pleasure

Kay George Dowd earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Kay completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Kay was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

Back to school for some back to the eco centre for GoodGym. The community garden was in need of some old fashioned weeding, sweeping and general tidying and we were only too happy to assist. Arriving by bike, bus and foot, we were greeted by a friendly smile and nice clear sign. The jobs were simple and plentiful, weed, sweep, tidy and paint if there was time. Everyone set to work in their chosen socially distant areas and soon the compost was literally piling up. Thankfully there was time for Jane and Kay to show off their straight line painting skills, by marking the edge of the steps with paint and an upside down plant pot for a straight edge. A for effort, and that's all that counts right? Welcome back to Kay, almost a year on from her first group run and welcome to Rosy from Richmond/Ham. Look forward to seeing you both again soon. Keep your eyes peeled for a return visit in October where there will be piles of leaves to sweep and the promise of mint tea!

A full moon & a beautiful clear night for a Kingston group run! Welcoming 5 new runners this week.. Kay, Ryan, Ellie, Katie & Charlotte great to meet you all!
We set off in two teams a walking group & runners starting with the ever important warm up to get those bodies moving! (It felt more like dodge the pedestrian!)
We took the scenic route to tonight’s task, a 4.5k run on the way out via Munster road the other side of the river. We arrived at our destination, to find trowels, brushes, bags all the tools at the ready for us! Andrew (from I.D Verde) had everything in place and started by giving us a guided tour of the weeds vs shrubs so we knew what needed removing from the flower beds.
We set to work in the good gym spirit, there wasn’t ‘mushroom’ to be had in amongst all the weeds but being surrounded by ‘funghi’s’ we had it cleared & looking healthy in no time!
Tonight’s tasks created lots of interest in the community as local passers by were drawn to the activity - keen to know what we were all about and so grateful for our efforts too!
A great job, smiles all round & lots of chatter had by all, such a well organised task as always! Helped along by the super guidance of Andrew who topped it all off with congratulated on the quality of our work.
Love a Transformative Tuesday with Good Gym in Kingston - Looking forward to next week already!
A big well done to Dave and Caroline on some great running last weekend and have a blast Charlotte at the 10km this weekend coming!
