Kellie Donovan earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Kellie completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Kellie was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.

This week, three members of Coventry GoodGym helped the Social Supermarket in their operations.
We were pleased to welcome Kellie back to the supermarket today. She soon sprung into action and boxed up a multitude of eggs and bagged up delicious fruit and veg bags for the customers. There were also bags to sort, produce to divide up, and lots and lots of donations to sort, count and collect in. It was a busy but fun shift, with everyone working together with the supermarket team to get all the customers served with wonderful parcels of food for the long bank holiday weekend which included lots of root and salad veg and fresh fruit.

On a cold and blustery night, 13 members of GoodGym Coventry ran 7.4km to Foleshill Community Centre to support Feeding Coventry.
Before we set off, we heard about Becka's parkrun PB, well done! Then chatted XC aspirations and inequalities with Laura, well done Laura and fingers crossed.
Now, barely a month until the Supermarket will open its doors. which means tasks involved cleaning the kitchen. assembling and cleaning shelves and cupboards.
All task were achieved, fridges were spotless, shelves and floors bleached and shelving units moved into spaces (Amy's day job came on very useful here!).
Great to see you all and well done on another awesome task and the longest distances run without stopping, well done again Amy! ( Special thanks to the motivating and navigating team of Vic and Vickie!).
See you all next week for a litter pick on the canal. Liz x

Tonight heralded another week of painting as 16 GoodGym runners ran to Foleshill Community Centre to support Feeding Coventry. We also welcomed John from Birmingham this week. On our way to the centre, we all enjoyed getting in some energetic reps by the Canal Basin. Well done everyone. We also enjoyed running through the streets of Foleshill, enjoying the sights and sounds as many people from the Sikh community were celebrating tonight. As we were familiar with the staff and task, we all got to work quickly, with groups painting furniture and shelving and others giving the toilets a paint too. Our runners enjoyed a quick samosa (or 2) before running back to Drapers. It has been fantastic to see the progress we have made over the weeks to this building and can’t wait to see it coming back to life for the local community very soon. There will be a Community Mission on the 30th November where GoodGym will return to help put the finishing touches on the project. Sign up here.

A great evening for some more painting as 16 GoodGym Coventry Runners and it was great to welcome Iona headed again to Foleshill Community Centre to support Feeding Coventry.
Flanked by fireworks displays on either side, we ran to the Community Centre. Alan's feet guided us up the stairs- thanks Alan. Eagerly, all members armed themselves with brushes and 'appropriate' footwear and set to with the task. Walls, furniture and bathrooms were painted tonight.
The task is almost finished and looks awesome. We look forward to seeing Ellie again next Tuesday and again for a Community Mission on the 30th November - sign up here
Have a lovely week, Liz x

18 GoodGym Coventry runners headed to the Foleshill Community Centre to paint again. Having started this task last week, we were this time greeted by Faye who helped us get straight on with the task in hand, painting shelving and walls.
Samosas again were proveded for sustainance and were very well received as again we had completed our fitness session of hills on the way to the task. Saul stormed to the front of the hill reps and the rest of the group powered on up the hills.
It was another great evening, everyone chatted, ran and painted- thanks team. See you next week. Liz x
